Bombs Away!

It's easy to misinterpret things in mental health care. For example, older people are often considered to be in the early stages of dementia if they appear confused and disorientated, when in fact they may be only suffering from a temporary infection, dehydration or prescription drug side effects.
I remember one day an old guy came into the communal lounge and said:
"Tally ho chaps! Bombs away!"
Some visitors immediately assumed he was 'senile', when it was just his military turn of phrase.
It actually meant he'd had a good clear out on the bog....

Very true! I think you make a very valid point. As you get older, people can easily assume you are confused when you might not be.
