One day the earth will be blackened rubble.
Even now, it's nought but a bubble.
Gurning youths with simian stubble.
Owt for nowt, at the double.
No need for the telescope, known as Hubble.
We'll soon be joining it!
Asteroid Trouble.

Everything is relative
Everything is relative hey? Eg in all sizes from astronomical to microscopic doesn't look like there's an end to it either way.
By the way a common misconception, you cannot deviate the course of a astroid with any nuclear bomb, the trajectory of the center of mass can be affected none at all. This is elementary mechanics.
Best you can do is scatter the pieces, apart from that the centre of mass remains dead on path dead on target. But now of the explosion the fragments would be nuclear radiation contaminated. That is what you will get for your efforts. As far as I am concerned the exercise is doomed from the start and a waste of time.
All the best! Tom
