Dog hairs

There's a procedure to breaking up,

it has a process

Check my phone again,

just incase a text came through

Maybe there's a message waiting for me on facebook?

There's a common thing about all my ex's,

something they all leave behind that lasts longer than goodtime memories

Dog hair

They've all had dogs,

and months later when I'm wearing an old jumper that I thought I'd lost,

I see long, thick, white hairs of a dog, reminding me

Some have had cats, but that's thinnner hair, it falls off easily in the wash

Trying to recall where it went wrong

Was it me, was it her?

Anger followed by freedom, bit of regret, bit of thinking '2 years wasted!'

I'll get over it eventually,

I've done it before,

but sooner or later I know,

on a piece of clothing I cant find now,

I'll find a dog hair.
