Tom

There was no play-school for children as special as Tom in her days. No specialist she knew about who could help her, make suggestions, as to how her 24 hour situation could be handled. No D.L.A. or come to that bedroom tax. Who would have thought that in the year of today there would be food banks, high unemployment for young people after they left school at 18? In Tom’s mum’s days children left school at a time when girls were tucking doll’s up in cots whilst boys kicked footballs out in the park or near their co-op; that was until someone moved them away. If it was bitterly cold they would head back to home and a coal fire or to their bedroom and records or comics.
Yet, some girls did leave school with more than vinyl dolls to think of.
