I'm broken
Everyone tells me that
Like I don't already know
But I have a secret
From the moment you saw me, you knew I was broken. But it didn't seem to bother me. I wore it like a badge. You thought to yourself, "I could learn to love those flaws. Plus he'll change for me, I can fix him." And so it was.
Those flaws became chores
And enemies
And an endless source of hurt
Change seemed to come and go
What was I to do?
We both knew I was broken
But I have an awful secret
In my blind desire for your approval
I knew I was giving you false hope
