‘Come as you are,
wear what you will,
there’s room on-stage
for the overspill.
‘Hear Henry Hallerholler,
a soliloquy as noother;
he just wants to bealone
- like his hairy,lupine brother
‘Take your turn
at the glass beadgame
play againstyourself
and forget yourname.
‘Abraxas performs
with Emil Sinclair
in a two-steppe performance
in a market square.
‘Mozart will throw
the musical dice
the minuet repeating
every triplet twice.
‘The players will boo
and the orchestra cheer,
while the audience is silent
and feeling quite queer.
‘Come on, come on,
don’t miss the show,
don’t bring your sister
she’s too Jung to go.
‘Rules are for fools,
our roles are our goals:
the watcher watches
our plot full of holes
'The curtain drops
in the middle of a scene
and the audience gasps
‘What does it all mean?’'

"..don’t bring your sister
"..don’t bring your sister

Ah yes, cleverly done and very entertaining to read.
I imagine this is intended below in the way the words merge together? You are so creative with your poetry so much of the time!
"play againstyourself
and forget yourname."

Haven't read it for years. I
Haven't read it for years. I want to read it again now. Excellent poetry, clever, witty. And sometimes it pays to not understand. This is our literary Pick of the Day. Do share on social media.
