DIY

A lonely man will turn to his shed

and do some DIY instead.

He’ll tighten his nuts with his trusty spanner

by wielding it in a masterly manner.

To banish lonely-hearted blues,

he’ll contemplate his favourite screws,

while if this too should fruitless prove,

he may resort to tongue-and-groove.

If his reaction is somewhat cool,

he has recourse to a power tool.

Although another might be nice,

his shed is home to a solit’ry vice.

It suits him, though, to keep it quiet

as, God forbid, his wife might try it.
