Adam’s delving is done,
tin, coal, iron, gold
ran out long ago.
Cobalt Blue
no longer sits
on painters’ palettes:
goblin ore is now the prize.
The sons of Cain send
the sons of Ham to mine it
from the heart of darkness.

And Eve still spins,
while Adam writes and paints
and dreams and wishes
and does
