I Am Tired of Complexity

Outside the window, the oak
is dressed in its autumn coat
of tan, crimson and gold.
It is beautiful the year round.
Buds unfurl like the spring itself.
Thick, verdant leaves glint
like silver paper in the summer sun.
Right now, this tree is painted by Klimt.
Soon bare branches will give
quercus a stark and wintry beauty.
The roots grow under my house,
along the terrace row,
to penetrate the sewer
and its contents.
I am tired of complexity.

I got the impression you were
I got the impression you were tired of poeticisms rather than complexity. But you'd know best.

Did you know trees have more
Did you know trees have more dna than we do? All our stupidities are less complicated than what they do to keep the earth working. Including roots using water from the sewer to help make leaves that produce fresh air? I like your tree poem very much. I hope it gave you joy to write as it does to read it
