Just like Atlantis,

Understanding America is a myth, a fable,

despite the cards face up on the table.

America has lost all empathy,

and any heartfelt sympathy,

for the kingdom of a sociopath.

Count the votes! Do the math!

We see only this:

the riches, the riches,

the foolish election of sons-of-bitches;

the introspection,

the childish belief in trade protection.

Trump as president, they’re taking the piss!

What did they do, to deserve all this?

And speaking of piss:

is it a video or just “look over there”?

As big a distraction as the President’s hair?

What is the ogre behind the glass?

Is it the end, or the death of grass?

And meanwhile Compton boils and seethes,

while rural Trumpland picks flowers for wreaths.
