Waiting for Haiku

Two vagrants have been
here some time: strange names both.
Waiting for someone.
Tarragon, I think
it is, cannot get his boot
off. Another comes.
Nothing to be done
I think you might be right there;
there you are again
Are you sure of that?
I am glad to see you back
thought you gone for good
So did I at least-
Together again at last!
Lets celebrate. How?
Get up! Let's embrace!
Not now, and nor yet later
if I might enquire
where you spent the night?
deep in my good self alone.
Over there in the ditch.
Did they not beat you?
Yes, certainly they beat me.
Same lot as usual?
The same? I don't know.
When I think of it, all these
years, but for me, where
would you be? You'd be
nothing more than a little
heap of bones, no doubt.
