Dissolution
I would swap a thousand earnest declarations of love
For one lingering sensuous kiss with you
On a beach at twilight
Buffered by warm african winds
As if the whole world clamoured to share
The exquisite moment of our embrace
And later we would lie
Barely touching but connecting
And punctuate lovemaking with murmurs of surprise
And smiles to murmur through
A sweet dissolution the sky the sea you me
Later when the darkness stretches on and on
The pulling of the waves against the moon
Would forever be our song
