Will I tell you
Will I tell you what it feels like to be nice?
How every stitch burns to be called sweet?
Will you care to hear about being a good friend?
Let me tell you then about being a man
I am a man
A man is when you have frost
In your hair and on your eyes
Feet legs arms numbed by winter within
A heart as permafrost as glacial creep
Envious of nature's lengthy sleep
Blood serves to solidify
Or liquified by failure
Draws a silence as a man
And pulls a floodgate closed
Following a shade
A man circumstorms
One thousand petty wars
In search of his arcadia
And
Nice men never share a dawn
Or call a flighted vision or
Fall under a casual glance
Massively desired in silence
Sweet men barely make the crowd
Coo like eunuchs trusted
For their nothingness
And always leave when dismissed
I am a good friend
Only because I am bad
At being a man
Will I tell what it's like to be a man?
I don't think I ever can.
