Isn't it funny how you,
Reading this now,
Is at a different stage
Than the person before and the person after you?
Not just by age
But life in general.
A different experience,
A different time,
A different life.
Some of you may be
Reading this
Through bleary eyes
Trying to block out
The pains of today.
I'm sorry for reminding you.
Some of you may just
Want to kill time
Or just be curious.
I don't know about you
But I don't know what will next come out of my mouth.
I never think,
Just write.
The pen consumes me in a way.
It's strange.
And yet I think
Of all of you,
How I will never know your stories
And you,
Will never know mine.
Sure we can collect
Fragments and pieces
From the tales we tell
But the puzzle will never be
Complete.
I wonder how many of you
In just today
Have had your dreams come true,
Or shattered,
Or are still finding them.
Do you know your dreams, hopes and goals?
Would you share them with me if I asked you to?
I wonder what your
Futures hold?
Are they sweet
Or tinged with sorrow?
I wish I knew
And then I could tell you.
I swear I would.
But really...
Would you want to know?
....
I wouldn't.
