Sheffield
When I first came to Sheffield… a city they call “town”
It was full of dirty factories… and the shops were closing down

But that was in the 80’s… when everything was grey
You can’t even compare it… to the place it is today

The city is now bright and clean… it is a different class
With lovely revamped places… with lots of steel and glass

I know there is still work to do… some parts are still run down
But when complete it will become… the Jewel in Yorkshire’s crown

And it’s not all in the centre… there’s plenty to explore
It’s Europe’s greenest city… with countryside galore

I’m not saying that it’s perfect… but the city tries its best
To be a safe and happy place… a step up from the rest

Although I wasn’t born here… I want it to be known
I’m glad I live in Sheffield… it’s the place I call my home
