Poem: Calm
A thought
drifts from my mind,
Like a whisp of smoke
from the incense I inhale...
Life , a dream , truth.
I reach out to touch it but it moves around me;
Smiling , passing through & round ;
My fingers reach for the pleasure to disrupt & embrace...
The moment
rises from this action & emotion
flows aimlessly,
without home...
Innocent & hopeful in my quest
I rest & breathe out frustration,
I am alone with my breath again
Sensing & feeling pain subside...
The thought escapes me.
Then , again , it appears:
Defiantly smoky, floating,
suggestively fading & jading the soul
Eyes work better closed.
Shut. Tight.
As lights focus
on space & stars...
Happiness jars with emptiness;
Tranquility absorbs the smoke;
I gasp & grasp freedom once more,
like a calm sea absorbing the wave...
I am one & all & all is one.
I am the thought & the emotion.
I breathe the smoke ,
I am the air it needs.
I am the fear & the calm
Softly now... In , out
Deep , slow
Calm , peace
This is my moment
A wonderful moment
The past is gone
& the future will never be
There is only now....
