Farewell

I kiss the glint of labour's love , hidden in your eye
& feel the warmth on frosted lip , the glimmer of your smile.
Locked alone , as one we hold , in love's caress, the dream;
Unfolding truths in love's back yard is never what it seems.
Hands clasped , secure , on bonded kiss , dreams roasting on our fire,
I see your eyes & feel your touch , then scold my heart's desire.
Fragile our strength , again we fight , against our breathless fear,
slowly in the night we lock & wash away the years.
The dew of hope wells in our eyes & softens hardened hearts,
the stillness of our dream explodes & tears a life apart.
We drift & dance in sweat & tears & rejoice in sweet release,
returning from our night's embrace , we laugh with youthful ease.
Yet cruel the wind that boldly rips the magic from the spell,
Two lost souls in stuttered starts; only time will tell.
We meet , we touch , we soar , we fly , we crash , we part & die,
Dream on my dreamer , rush forth once more , dare our world's collide.
Heart in hand , my shadow stares; through tearful eyes it screams,
"Farewell my love , my heart's desire , the lady of my dreams."
