A Tear

Half eaten
Inside
I stare at my emptiness
and loneliness fills my very core;
I ache
Relentlessly I take
My place in life
My breath ,
My only saviour
Lost
I drown in my sense of loss
Regrets
Fill my unclear mind
Attached, yet free,
Hurting,
In my contentment
I rise and fall again
The past
anchors itself in my thoughts
Losing sight of the future
I close my eyes
A tear
emerges from the pain
and slowly descends into oblivion,
caressing my lonely cheek without a care
Empty
I stare
Nothingness fearfully reaches out
and calls me from my sleep
Alone
I weep
for a past lost in the dream of tomorrow;
Alone
I face my innermost void.
