morning melancholy
skin still craving sheets
pitter patter footsteps
fall like christmas sweets
comfort cup of coffee
chilly marble floor
gray and barren landscape
dead leaves at the door
layers, layers, layers
enveloped in a hug
comfort in the contact
welcome smile snug
exchange commiseration
sidewalk swept with chill
quickness to your step, now
feel the winter thrill

Hi fluffeu,
what a wonderful poem, awaking in the morning, not
wanting to leave your bed, but that comforting first
cup of coffee and the leaves up against the door, as
you pick up your post. Then off on your way, to
welcome another day.
I love this poem, I was there with you all the way.
Thankyou for a great read.
Jenny.

Lovely poem, these lines;
"pitter patter footsteps
fall like christmas sweets"
I especially like, made me think of a child.
