Blossom So Divine
In feeble, stuttering steps
She made her awkward way
Baleful eyes bursting with unborn tears
A sideways glance at this broken dream
Cemented her solitude in a lonely world.
Maiden legs like dolly pegs bore her skinny frame.
Partly abandoned, wholly deserted
She cried unseen at parties,
Seeking not attention or any hopeful kiss
Other sweet treats soon devoured
No sweet cherry, this solitary Miss.
She painted not with gaudy grease
No heavy lashes black widow-like eyes
Of burdening boot polish.
Faint blushing cheeks
And eyes of diamond drops.
Golden hair gathered in bunches
She shone like the swan in sail.
From near, from far
Scores of suitors came to woo her
What gave this transformation?
Curves to die for?
Awash with siren-strength pheromones?
She had grown her wings from strength within
A fountain of simple love not lust
A gentle nature unassuming
Her bloom of love enduring
Into the autumn of her happy years

Interesting description of
Interesting description of 'make-up'! and of the beauty from within which isn't deceptive or fleeting (Proverbs 31:30), and is a by-product of honouring God, and trustworthiness and a caring nature. Rhiannon
