Blue Yonder

 

Janus-like I stare both ways

I stare and wonder

Long black nights

The far blue yonder

Yearning for longer summer days

 

Darkness dwelling still it stays

In dismal solitude I sit and

The slothful calendar foretelling

Of an endless dark filled mood

Hope of spring still far away

It was taken last July whilst on a canal holiday on the Lllangollen Canal with an old school mate.  We stoppeed for the day in the shade of the trees overlooking the Mere.  I could have stayed there for a very long time!

You know winter is here when the swallows are all over rows and rows on the wires preparing to leave. Would love to do that. Take summer with you.
