In The Calm Of Understanding

 

I could scream…

Or maybe heave a heavy sigh

I could cry

Or maybe dry my eye

I could roar

Or hush and die

 

I could scream…

Or simply mutter

I could rage

Profanities to utter

I could curse

Or simply listen

 

I could scream…

Yet no one listens

To another fool’s

Hysterical ramblings

Or I could listen

And embrace

The calm of understanding

I think you are highlighting the realisation that screaming in anger or frustration will not help, but calm listening can be more helpful, and sometimes give thought and wisdom of utterance to help in a situation.

I think that's a good interpretation of the IP, 'I couldn't scream'. Rhiannon
