Greed For Gold
Sacred life wantonly sacrificed
The blinding glitter of gold
Stills all the senses but sight unfolds
Promises wealth without end
Greed-fuelled dreams entice
Fields of Gold are sewn
With dreams corrupt
The precious yellow fever
Is hard to swallow
Broken teeth, broken dreams
Coffins dripping with diamonds
Thick with gold so pure
Stripped naked in death
The too-late soul repents
Their selfish greed revealed
People feed not on Gold
That my friend is for sure.

A lot of useful metaphor
A lot of useful metaphor going on here, Graham. Ties in with the parable again (though he did repent, just in time).
Fields of Gold are sewn With dreams corrupt The precious yellow fever Is hard to swallow Broken teeth, broken dreams.
Those purses with holes in again, those sweets than turn to gravel. Rhiannon
