Hanger
The heart cried “I am the organic metronome that sets the rhythm of life. From second one to the fading light I beat a drum, counting the seconds, the minutes and the moments of life itself. I urge the blood onwards; throbbing and pounding through ever narrowing canals carrying the next moment’s living. I am the one, I am the first among you all! Thus I must lead; for I am more important than you all. ”
“Not so!” cried the blood. “Just like the marching band you seem to lead, but what if no one heard you beat? What if no one followed? Without me all would cease to be. I am the urgent postman delivering life to every cell; oxygen and food for no one must miss my call. Do so and die! I am the dustman who carries the poisons no one wants. I must lead!”
The eyes cried “Look! I see all and you see none. I light up your lives, I tell the brain what is to come. I warn of danger and pleasures plenty. Damn you to darkness if I am not the one.
Then the Liver, the Brain, kidneys, lungs, even the spleen clamored for the vote. “We shall not be moved!”
Silently, the bones slipped away smiling as they went. Glancing back they mocked the mess on the floor. “We may just be the hanger, but now let’s see you run.”

Clever little parable of the
Clever little parable of the importance of each contributing, each needing each other, as the Bible teaches in1 Corinthians 12 about the church (people, believers, not the building!) being the body of Christ, eg if the foot should say, "Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body, it would not for that reason cease to be part of the body." etc. Rhiannon
