Heading South
A lifelong journey now heads South
Mountains scaled with bounding leaps
An all-conquering endless youth
A jaw set firm with steel resolve
Lays now in faded heaps
Dwindling gnashers
Like wobbly dominoes fall
Only remains an empty mouth
Suck, not bite is all I have
My tombstone teeth have headed South
My epitaph to this vacant cavern?
Beware the sugar-sweet promises
Relentless, rotting dentine death
Don’t ever let your teeth go South.

Such a shame that your
Such a shame that your gnashers are going in the wrong direction, Graham. Even though it is a serious problem I couldn't fail to see the funny side. This poem reminded me of Pam Ayres' "Oh, I Wish I’d Looked After Me Teeth"
Cheers, Luigi

I agree with everything Luigi
I agree with everything Luigi says above. Sorry about your predicament, but it has produced a very original and amusing IP interpretation!
Would love to hear this at our virtual reading event! See the front page for registration details if you'd like to come along

After so much dental care in
After so much dental care in recent years and wanting us to be proactive, not only has lockdowm slowed everything down here, but our dentist retired just about a year or more ago and the practice hasn't been able to replace him yet and can only offer us who were his patients emergency cover, which seems less than if you were not registered with any dentist. Consequently broken teeth are gradually getting smaller! Rhiannon
