Self First Self Last
Self-preservation or selfish need?
What nurtures the growing greed?
The hoards gathering, garnering,
Burdened trolleys buckle and fold.
A false issue of truth fuels a greedy goal
Requiem Masses secure the death
Of the humble toilet roll.
Can they see? Do they care?
Devil take the hindmost
As cupboards creak and groan.
When there are no bums to wipe,
That’s the time to moan.
I’m on an inside, looking out
And what I see appals me.
Self is King, or Queen as
Last is first in the race to queue.
Sharing, caring – now THAT would be new.
I’m on the inside, looking out
And nothing now surprises me.
Panic rules to live just one more day
On the inside I trust my creator
On the outside I pray it shows.

Yes Graham, I am afraid we
Yes Graham, I am afraid we live in 'interesting times'. The more people are told not to panic, the more they do. I seem to remember that the same behaviour occurred with Brexit, people rushing out and emptying the supermarkets' shelves..
Cheers, Luigi.

The toilet roll thing really
The toilet roll thing really puzzles me. I'm not sure what it says about society. 'We may all get ill and some of us may die. Quick, buy toilet roll!'
