The Train On Platform 4 (Brace Yourselves)
The Tanoy crackled causing a hush
“Passengers waiting on Platform 4
Please don’t make a fuss
Hurry along to the car park
Your train’s now a bus”
We’re not sure when you’ll get there
Many potholed roads are closed
Maze-like diversions, jams aplenty
The train on platform 4
Must remain empty
The driver is absent
Stopped by gales
The guard is still in Kent
From whence he hails

Quite a coincidence, Graham, that we chose a similar approach. It must be due to experience.
Cheers, Luigi
P.S. I have now deleted my piece as I wasn't too sure if it worked. I like your version though.

Ahhh. This poem is so
Ahhh. This poem is so reminiscent of my every day that it's an angst-ridden read for me. Also that my train home is always on Platform 4! Well done, enjoyed it despite the angst. :)
