half asleep staring out the window on a
late
late night drive
the small talk and the low
hums
of the radio distort time
in your head, dreams of the jet lag
and the long hours at customs,
echo a past trauma, giving way for a
sigh
of relief
pitch black silhouettes of coconut trees and warm humid breeze
cradle your last thoughts
and trails
away...
into the thicket of what once was
