My Hope

I die in a world that dies with me.
Each day is a painful wringing of yet another drop of hope.
They are hot and sticky on my face-
Like pitch.
Each day is dread. A suffocation in a downward spiral.
My God, there are many days ahead. Many, Many,
Many days ahead.
Trapped in a Pandora's Box, I meet my hope.
I meet her.
She is but a sliver of hope, but she grows each day.
She grows with me.
Her beauty gives me breath in this place.
Her passions give me inspiration.
Her laughter is an everlasting echo of joy.
Her smile gives me life.
Her soul peels the blackness from my heart,
And underneath there is nothing-
But love.
I now live in a world that dies around me,
And I am alone, for her love is not for me.
Tragic to some, vitalizing to me,
I live each day to come dear to her,
To come closer to my hope for life in it's fullest.
Each day I feel closer, yet I am a lifetime away.
And there are many days ahead.
Many, many, many days ahead.
For what she's shown me,
For the sake of my life, my love, my hope,
I promise to cherish each one,
To share each one,
With you.
