The rolling dunes of shifting sand
The landscape changes and the land
The wind reveals a concrete band
Then eyehole slits & more expand
This hidden chamber in no-man’s land
Preserve them so others younger understand
Expectant every day five years were manned
Waiting to repel invasion
Whatever beach of inlet or inland location
Each pillbox defines this nation.
