Adam and Eve 5/5

That evening, at roughly the same time as Adam and Eve had arrived back at home, six red goblins met in the hills.
“Them two wizards was a real couple of twits! Talk about beginners and I reckon they was strangers to the area as well. After all what witch in their right mind would land in Happy Valley and then walk off leaving their door open!”
“Well we seem to be the only ones who got out. Has any one any idea where we should go to hide? It won’t take too long for the real witches to find us once they know we’re missing from the valley. We’ve got to find somewhere to hide in the daytime, does anyone know where we are?”
“I think the door opened into the hills just above Lurbridge, I recognised the bridge that Lurgin lives under. If I’m right then the best place to hide would be in the red village to west. After all you don’t expect to find one particular red in a village full of them!”
“Good thinking,” said the first goblin, “there’s only one snag I can see and that’s how do we get past Lurgin? He’s not particularly nice at the best of times and if he’s hungry he’ll polish off the lot of us!”
“Well we’ve got to give it a try. With a bit of luck he'll be asleep and we might be able to sneak past if we go now while it’s dark.”
The goblins set off down the hillside in single file, then stopped as they arrived at the bridge.
“You go and peep under the bridge quietly now and see if he’s awake.”
“Why me?”
“Because you’re the smallest of us and I’m going to thump you one if you don’t do what I say. Anyway if he does see you he probably won’t bother to eat you because you’re too small to bother with!”
The smallest goblin grumbled under his breath but did as he was told and crept down the riverbank for a peep under the bridge. He came back to the others looking much happier.
“You won’t believe this boys! There’s a troll there all right but it’s not Lurgin! I reckon this one’s a bit of a softy; he’s decorated under the bridge and has screens at each end to keep out the draughts. I’m going to go back once we’ve crossed over and throw some of his spare paint all over the floor. That’ll give him something to think about when he wakes up!”
“Why not just sign your name with the paint and give him your address at the same time!” said the leader cuffing the smallest goblin on the ear. “We’re trying to sneak past, not tell all the folk in the area that a new gang of reds has arrived. Plenty of time for fun once they’ve given up searching for us. Until then we are going to be good little goblins and live quietly in the village.”
The goblins tiptoed over the bridge, giggling under their breath as they stopped every few feet and listened to Gordon snoring. From their point of view everything went well and a few minutes later they disappeared into the night.
