The double glazing salesman 5/12

Mary was nearly as enthusiastic as Dave, when he told her that his idea would let them fly rather like the birds. She got more and more excited as the days went by, until at last he announced at breakfast time one morning, that he was ready to give the family a demonstration of his flying skills.
They all climbed into the lugger ‘Misty Magic’ and set off for the Witches’ Home. Robert was already waiting for them on the lawn, while those witches who could spare the time came out to watch and have another good laugh.
Dave strapped himself into his harness and made himself light enough to fly, then with a loud cheer from his audience flapped himself straight up into the air for about ten feet, before swinging his body into a horizontal position.
The cheering quickly changed to applause as he flew quite quickly out over the river, before making a gentle turn and a long glide back to the waiting crowd.
Mary was there to greet him as he landed and gave him a kiss and a great big hug.
“When can I have a go? It looks absolutely wonderful.”
“It’ll have to wait for a few days I’m afraid. Robert will have to make another set of wings and then we’ll have to find your balancing point, but I should guess you’ll be flying within a week. Now then I’m off to the alternate world for a proper fly around!”
The witches went back to their work, as Dave walked through the Home and out over the drawbridge. Only two or three were left to watch with Mary and Jennifer Jane, as he flapped up into the air and headed off round the back of the castle.
“I’ve often wanted to see what the magic side of the Home looked like from this side,” he said as he flew off, “now I’m off to have a look.”
