The day after all the troubles between Morwenna and George had been cleared up; the Bells were sitting in the kitchen eating their breakfast as usual.
“I don’t know about all of you,” said Dave, “but after all the excitement of that rally, I’m for a quiet life for a while. So today I’m going to go flying around Lurbridge and maybe pop into the George and Dragons for a pint and a chat with the locals.”
His family agreed enthusiastically and he went with Mary and Jennifer Jane to have a polite word with Abigail, before making his excuses and rushing off to the workshop where he kept his wings. Robert helped him strap them on and wished him an enjoyable trip.

He’d made sure he had plenty of height before starting his attempts and when he finally gave up he was still high enough to see the quayside at the Lurbridge timber yard. He wasn’t quite sure from that distance, but it looked as if one of the Davy Jones brigs was moored alongside, so he decided to go and have a look for himself.
It was always worth the trip when one of them was there; they were fascinating craft and were sailed by the goblins in the manner of sailing ships more than a hundred years before in his own world.
