A flight too far 5/6

She explained that she was going to open a temporary door into another world. The winner of the race would be the first one through the door and it was up to her to make sure the winner was Tony. She'd stop before she passed through and the landlord could knock the doorframe down, thus trapping the troll in another world.
The landlord altered his slate, 'J.J. evens/ T. 6-4' then went to find three square sectioned baulks of timber at her request. Together they went outside to a piece of ground about two hundred yards away from the bridge. Two of the timbers were raised vertically with the help of some of the pub regulars and the third placed horizontally across the top. Jennifer Jane activated the door and went through for a quick look round to make sure there would be no trouble when a troll was suddenly introduced to another world.
The first few tries were unsuccessful, as there were villages too close by. Then moving the doorframe once more produced a perfect situation. She couldn't see anybody in any direction. The countryside looked pleasant and well able to support a troll, so she came back and deactivated the door. The assembled crowd was most impressed.
"Can I have a pot of white paint please?" she asked.
When it was produced, she carefully painted the grass
round each of the uprights to make sure their position wasn't lost in case of accidents.
"I'm ready," she announced at last and activating the door for the last time, went off to the bridge to find Tony.
Jennifer Jane explained the rules to him.
"First one through the goal posts wins. If you win you can carry on as before, if I win then you can still ask the villagers your riddles and growl at them when they can't answer but you must chase them over the bridge so that they can get to work. That way you can have your fun and the locals won't become poor again."
"Agreed," said Tony, "ready steady go" and before Jennifer Jane could move a muscle he was off.
She felt she had to make a good show of trying to win so she ran as quickly as she could and managed to catch him up as they reached the door. Then just as she slowed down to let him through, he put out his hand and pushed her through the door in front of him.
"You win, "he said with a grin, "I think your idea was the best anyway and now the locals will be grateful to you for making me let them pass the bridge."
Jennifer Jane quickly looked round at the door. She had a horrible feeling something had gone wrong.
She was quite right. The doorway had been knocked down according to plan and the posts had disappeared. Not only that but when she'd marked the ground for the post positions, she'd done it with the door turned off, so the paint marks were all in the other world as well. She was stuck once again in another world with no means of finding the way back. To further complicate matters she wasn't at all sure how Tony would react when he realised that the world where he'd been living had disappeared.
