Fooling my friends

I know an authoress called Jenny
She’s kind enough to read my work
However badly written
From it she does not shirk

But as she reads my writings
She has one small complaint
Sometimes the story might be true
At other times it ain’t

Now how to tell the difference
How can any reader tell?
There’s realistic fiction
And unusual truths as well

But does it really matter?
If you’ve enjoyed the plot
Whether the words that you’ve just read
Are really true or not

There is no easy answer
For only I can tell
Would you believe me if I told you
Or are these words untrue as well

At creative writing meetings
The question is sometimes raised
The reply is “what you make of it
‘Creative’ is the phrase.”

One thought; beside the title
I could put this is ‘true’, or ‘false’
That would really make it easy
But might make the story worse

So relax, enjoy my efforts
Be amazed at what I’ve done
For us writing’s just a hobby
So just join in the fun.
