Georgina Adam and Eve 1/12

Two weeks after her previous visit, Georgina returned to the red goblin village as she’d promised. To her surprise none of the goblins welcomed her arrival.

“Jennifer Jane fetched the giant and some witches along and the ones who’d escaped from Happy Valley were taken back there. We don’t want anything more to do with you!”

She returned to her quiet cottage hidden in the hills and sat down to have a good think. It was Jennifer Jane who had made a great ceremony of cancelling the spell that had made the pigeons deliver orders to the wrong place. Now she’d been involved in sending the red goblins back to Happy Valley, whoever else was involved, there was no doubt that in this area at least, the brat would have to be considered as a threat!

She tried to think of other ways to obtain her revenge against George without involving the witches. Then a thought suddenly struck her. The original breakout had been made when some witches had left an open door in the middle of Happy Valley. Nobody local would have done such a dangerous thing, so whoever they might have been, they were certainly not part of the local witch community.

She got a pencil and paper and a map of the area and began writing down the calculations for door location and displacement. She checked the results several times but unlikely though it was, the answer always came out the same. If the door was assumed to open in the middle of Happy Valley, then its origin must have been somewhere in the hills above Lurbridge. It had been a long time since she’d been taught the necessary sums, so she checked her work through yet again, figure by figure. There was no doubt about it!

Someone near Lurbridge had actually opened a door near the village and then left it open after passing through. It defied belief! This led her to two alternatives, either the witches involved were very stupid or they’d come from so far away that they didn’t even know that the place could be dangerous.

Assuming that no witch who’d had enough training to be able to open a door and had the confidence to use it could be stupid, then she had to come to the conclusion that they really had come from a long way away.

She made up her mind, these people could be useful allies if they didn’t know the locals and one way she could meet them, was by observing the area they’d used for their door. Of course she couldn’t guarantee they’d use that particular site again, but for the sake of spending a little time watching, she might well find herself some powerful friends.
