Jennifer Jane fixes the tap 3/3

Really, of course, that is the end of the story. The weather was lovely and sunny for the next two weeks and soon after that, ordinary rain showers began to occur again, so that Jennifer Jane knew that the plumber had returned from his holiday and been able to mend all the taps and the pipe.

About a month later though, she went to visit her friends in the goblin village and Mr. Kernell gave her a letter from the Clerk of the Weather. He thanked her very much for her help but said that the plumber had been rather cross about the flattened pipe.

It appeared that there was a special large tap in the pipe itself, up near the ceiling, especially for turning off the water. The goblin plumber thought that if Jennifer Jane knew enough about plumbing to flatten a lead pipe, then she should know enough to look for a stopcock!

However, everyone in the weather office was very grateful and said that if Jennifer Jane would like to send them the time and place of her next holiday, they would arrange some extra special sunny weather for her, "as a small token of our appreciation."
