My aching back (rewritten)

Early on this morning
My back began to ache
So I took a little aspirin to
To take the pain away
Later on this morning
My back was getting worse
So I took two paracetamol
On top of the aspirin
To take the pain away
By the middle of the day
My back was still in pain
So I took one Ibuprofen
Two paracetamol
And one little aspirin
To take the pain away
Early in the afternoon
My head began to spin
So I took three French hens
Two calling birds
One little aspirin
And started singing out of tune
Later in the afternoon
My aches began to go away
So I re-read this poem
Fell about laughing
Began to bump into things
And felt silly I must say
Now I’m off to see the doctor
He’ll prescribe me lots more pills
One after meals
One before you go to sleep
Then keep your fingers crossed
And perhaps everything will all go away.
