The problem with cats 5/8

Jennifer Jane spent the next two days running away from dogs, catching and eating mice, sleeping a lot and digging her claws into George whenever she had the opportunity. It seemed like a very long time, but at last George declared that he was ready to go home.
“I’ll take you back to Lower Dene, then I’ll leave the cart with the blacksmith and you can come straight back to the Witches Home on horseback, it’ll be the quickest way of getting there.”
The landlord of the George and Dragons was very surprised when George turned up on horseback carrying a cat.
“There’s not much call for pets round here,” he joked, “and it doesn’t look to be much of a mouser to me!”
George put the cat down on the floor and held his finger to his lips. “It’s Jennifer Jane who’s been turned into a cat by a witch we met in the forest by Woodside,” he whispered, “I’m taking her back to the witches at the Gate to get her turned into her proper shape!”
“Well you’re in luck my friend, some of the witches are here in the snug, having a bit of a party, I’m sure they’ll be only to pleased to sort things out for you.”
George picked up Jennifer Jane for the last time and went into the small room behind the bar.
One of the witches looked round as he came slowly into the room. “I’m sorry, this is a private party”
Jennifer Jane said “MIAOUW!” as loudly as she could and all the witches looked round in surprise, before turning away again and trying to hide their giggles. They all understood cat language and she’d just told them in no uncertain terms all about the problems she was having as a cat.
The senior witch in the room asked her if a challenge had been issued according to the rules of combat. Jennifer Jane shook her head as well as she could, before suggesting that the witch got on with it and made her normal again as quickly as possible.
“Right,” she said a few moments later. “If one of you would stop laughing long enough to lend me a broom, I’ll go back to Lower Dene and collect my scooter. I’ll return the broom on my way back, then go and see Abigail to ask her what I can do to sort out George’s problems and a few of my own as well.
