The Rally 4/11

Once they’d arrived at the area where Jennifer Jane thought the door had been, she popped back home and fetched her school calculator.
“One thing is easy,” said Abigail as she came puffing back, “the angle has to be across the path, so all we have to do is work out a reasonable answer based on the distance you remember from that tree.”
She gave Jennifer Jane the distances she’d paced out while she’d been fetching the calculator, then watched admiringly as the figures were entered and an answer produced almost immediately.
“That’s a very useful gadget; it took me a whole morning to work out my first exercise in door positions. I didn’t get very much better any later on either!”
She took a map out of her pocket and looked at the figures that had just been produced.
“We know she came from our world, so if you plot the figures on here we’ll soon know where she must have come from!”
She watched carefully as Jennifer Jane checked the markings on the edges of the map and drew a small cross to show the position in the alternate world where she thought the door must have been. Then she looked happily at Abigail.
“Thought so, it’s Hetherside, that’s the place where George killed the witch with the special extending sword dad designed for him! I think we can safely say that Georgina’s name really is Morwenna, just as Moggy suggested!”
Eve looked a bit startled. “Moggy’s that cat that came to live with you isn’t it? Are you telling me he can talk? Did George really go around killing people with a sword your dad made for him?”
“Dave only designed the sword, it had to be made in the alternate world,” said Abigail, “of course George killed people and dragons as well if you must know. He used to be a knight in shining armour rescuing fair maidens and righting wrongs. That’s partly why we’re all worried about your visits to our world, it’s possible to get into serious trouble unless you know what you’re doing!”
“And of course Moggy can talk,” added Jennifer Jane with a laugh, “nor does he think much of your group’s ideas about magic, that’s why he came to live with us,” she added rather unkindly.
Eve looked a bit upset and kept quiet.
“So to sum up,” said Abigail, “we’re pretty sure that Morwenna used to live at Hetherside and has good reason not to like George. Now then young clever clogs, what do we do next?”
“I’m not sure at the moment, I think I’ll go back to my tree house and try to work something out. I have a feeling that her ownership of a cottage like Esmerelda’s might be useful, but I’ll ask dad if he’s got any suggestions as well!”
