"I am in love with your skin," he says
she pulls at her skirt
to cover the stretch marks
funny how they grew from his first touch
maybe it's his fingers
that have left the marks that cannot be erased

these lines down her thighs
they come when the muscles loosen
belly softens
you can scratch and scrub
and oil and rub
but they never go away

covered in bruises
