A DAY FROM MY DIARY
JULY
25
2002 Thursday.
My morning started as usual. Left my bed with prayers.
In the morning watched the live telecast of the swearing-in of the
twelfth President of our country.
Just writing down a few words about him.
This first citizen of our country is well known as the Missile Man. He
is Mr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. He now adorns the highest office of the
country.
From today he will be bound in chains. His freedom will be curtailed.
The Rashtrapati Bhawan will not open its gates to this man to move
about as free as a bird.
I, on my own feel that no one can keep this man from moving about
freely as he likes. He may become a problem child.
One thing in him is that he has understood the water, the land and the
air very well. He is born in a family whose life is so close to the
waters; he is a scientist of world acclaim, and has worked on the
missile projects of our country. I feel, to bind this man who has
smelled so much of freedom of mind, within the four walls will it be
easy? I just want to imagine ______ can this man do something like
Emperor Akbar The Great, he may disguise himself as a commoner and go
out to meet the people, which he likes very much. So what- greats are
greats.
Today I wrote all this about him because I like his simple ness, which
I have read about. I also felt like locking my thoughts in words in my
diary.
Worked up on some more writings.
It was a wonderful day but very hot and humid. Hope it rains at
night.
Feeling really tired. It's already very late. Lots to do
tomorrow.
Thank you O God for this lovely day.
I will be off to bed now for a good night's sleep.
11.00 p.m.
