Choices.

I’m off work at the moment, and recently I have been stressed at home and last night I went to bed worried thinking about work and next week when I go back.
We were all told in our works WhatsApp group from our Policy at work, “Masks are only to be worn when a person/yourself are displaying symptoms.”
I text another co-worker last night and she said, “I will be wearing my mask at work, my life is more important than work!” She went on, “If Management don’t like that, then I will leave!” Personally, I think at the moment it seems there are two groups of people, those who are taking the deaths very seriously and those who are not. For my Manager to state the above about the masks to us, that is a bit controlling. Sometimes policies, they can be wrong, not often but I think in this unusual situation we are all in, globally we all have to do the little we can to survive and make it hopefully through to the other side of the coronavirus.
I didn’t want to lose my job over this, over wearing a mask, but my life is important to me. So, last night it took me a while to fall asleep, thinking about my Manager saying, “No,” To wearing a mask for the whole time I’m at work.
Then this morning a friend in my other WhatsApp group sent me a video called “Wear Your Mask,” By a Doctor called Jonas Sharma. This video was an answer to my prayers! It was clear and easy to follow; he explained the importance of covering your nose and mouth, and even if you don’t have a mask, anything will do, like a towel or scarf. I shared this important video with all in my contacts for its important for all to have the information then they after watching it can decide if they want to cover their faces or not.
Doctor Sharma also said, “In 1918 during the Spanish Flu Pandemic after millions had already died, they knew the importance of using the face mask and towards the end of it people were told at gunpoint to wear a mask!”
Now I have this easy to follow information, I am ‘peaceful’ and ‘calm’ and I can go to work next week with confidence that the choice is mine to wear a mask at work or not. I have sent my Manager the video.
Look after yourself, and Keep Safe. x

Stay safe, follow your gut
Stay safe, follow your gut and put yourself first. Managers might seem important but if you left your workplace they would forget your name after a few weeks. Best wishes.

Interesting dilemma, well
Interesting dilemma, well explained. Policies will vary, but in today's circumstances it does seem safer to wear a mask, for the protection of ourselves, and others. I don't have a mask myself (yet) but it does seem sensible for many situations. I like the way the video arrived at the right time to answer your dilemma.
