Eric wasn't happy, it
had rained all day and he suspected he might be suffering from SAD,
Eric suffered from everything going. He sat slumped in his armchair and
watched the rain trickling down the window. He had sat there all
morning, the television droned in the background. God, he hated
Sundays, he also hated Mondays, and Tuesdays and the rest of the week
for that matter. He was in a rut, of that, he was certain. Then the
door bell rang out, Eric started out of his depression and sat up. He
went to the door and opened it, and there was Debra. Eric didn't know
her name at that moment but it was Debra alright and Eric smiled.
understand you are looking for a cleaner."
style="MARGIN: 0pt">Eric hesitated, he was looking for a cleaner, he
had put a card in the window of the local newsagent a couple of weeks
ago. But Debra was too good for him to employ to clean his house and
also Eric wasn't sure he wanted someone so beautiful observing his
grime.
"Yes, I am" he
replied.
"Can I come in?"
Eric stepped aside and in came Debra, she looked around in an
unobtrusive way and smiled at Eric, "I've just arrived in the area and
am looking to start my own cleaning business, you're my first potential
client." She stated bubbily.
"Oh good" answered Eric in shock of her natural ease and
general pleasantness. Debra handed Eric some letters, "my references"
she announced.
"Oh right"
said Eric briefly looking at them.
Eric loved every God given day, then it happened. Debra hadn't told
Eric of her hospital appointment, she felt it might not be necessary,
but the results were bad and something had to be said. Eric didn't take
it well, in fact he was devastated, they promised each other they would
make the most of the time they would have together, but they had less
than they thought. One month later, only seven months after meeting
Debra, Eric stood over her coffin. The tears fell from his eyes and
afterwards he returned to their house and sat in his armchair. Rain
pelted the window and he just sat there tears trickling down his face
watching rain trickle down the window pain tearing apart his asundered
heart.
