Black cats matter, and I thought mine was splattered.
Outside I went, my emotions totally spent.
Because she usually slept on my pillow, and the night before it was sallow.
Turmoil wrecked my brain, and I thought I was going insane.
I took a towel out with dread in my heart, to scoop her up, that's what I thought.
I felt for sure, she was run over by a truck, my mind stricken with muck.
Two nights before, I had had a dream.
That she had left me, and to me it did seem.
Weird thing was, I was stuck on a train.
And the wheels were being being fiddled with by a baby black bear.
I was sure it was true, I was having a nightmare.
I don't know why, but I was convinced she was dead.
I prayed to God, and this is what I said.
Spare my cat, and I will suffer my lot.
I'll willing get cancer, and I'll tell you what.
My cat came home, and I'm no longer alone.
and although I panicked, I'm happy to get what I've got.
