REBIRTH

You can see the goal -
Even the pathway to it.
What you can't see
Are the deviations. They're hidden.
You compare what has been:
What you were - always were -
Always are, always will be -
The whole journey of being.
So then there comes the leaving;
So emotive, is it not?
Reminds you of a time,
A life, long, long ago:
The thump in your core,
That trembling of the belly -
That sickly feeling inside.
A journey of new discovery.
But at least it is quick!
Even if it is encombant
To take right inside of you
Every, single, infinitesimal detail:
The fading light of bliss.
The passing from light to dark;
The sense of falling
And then the hovering,
Stalled, patiently waiting:
Passing from kiss to kiss
Waiting for the crescendo:
The new begetting of you -
Precipitating back again.
It is done in the blink of an eye
Before soft, welcoming walls,
Throb, pulse and tremble -
Waking you to the womb
Of this new existence:
This rebirth.
