From the sky, under nature's umbrella,
falls the white rain of last night's moon
as I step outside to the porch
and immerse myself in the innocence of glory.
Out of the tree-tops soar the wild birds
onto the edge of the seeded wood feeders
while squirrels forage on the grassy ground
for the dropped food from up above.
A hawk soars its red tail across the orange sky
as gold finches fly from limb to perch
and mourning doves sing to the rocks
unbeknownst to the sparrows in the pines.
Leaves flutter about on wild, wind wings
while the grass soaks mother's wet milk inside
and the oaks sway in the soothing breeze
showing the simple cycles of our natural world.
