Sacrifice

These are such slow days
taken on a summer wing.
Lazy and languid in breezes,
hesitant as butterflies
over the green rained grass
and gentle nodding flowers.
You are a flash of nudity
lost inside this long summer.
Lying still, in willing sacrifice,
open to the sun's hot gaze,
spread out eager for him.
While I, your night-time lover,
sit in these shaded shadows
waiting for darkness.
