You email me talk of Canadian snow,
eiderdown, duck feathers, you saw once
that made you happy, like starting again.
But it is two months past Winter now.
Here the Winter has overdone it.
We are pushing into April.
With the skies still crowded
I tell you about snowdrops
in Denmark and you let me
see the wild tulips in Persia
and teach me that Boshonto
is spring and Shororitu
the land of six seasons:
Boshonto, Grisma, Barsa,
Sarat, Hemanta and the last
Winter, which fits you better,
it is the season for sweet pitha
and oranges are among the fruits.
