Zoom

Zoom
Sitting by Zoom,
In the dining room,
Tempted to get another snack.
He's buffering,
I'm suffering,
I should have bought a Mac.
I try to focus,
My attempts are bogus,
My head begins to ache.
Do I need glasses?
Or to take night classes?
More crisps? For goodness' sake.
I ponder that theme tune,
As it hits afternoon,
And I concentrate on feeling chilly.
Next I’m too warm,
To listen and conform,
He'll be finishing soon, will he?
As it draws to a close,
I remember those,
Times I commuted into work.
Early to wake up,
Putting on my makeup,
Now on Instagram I lurk.
Facemask on,
Slippers I don,
I hover the mouse of exit.
To the end the session,
He has a question,
‘Turn your cameras on for the next bit?’

Ah - the dreaded zoom
Ah - the dreaded zoom meetings! We have virtual reading events via Zoom which work quite well, except, as you say, sometimes the buffering. Hope you post more soon HattyNatters and welcome to ABCTales

Hello! I really enjoyed this,
Hello! I really enjoyed this, and strongly identified. 'I hover the mouse of exit' - never heard it put better.
As insert says, though, our ABC Zoom readings are usually great fun. Hope to see you at one in the future, with as many crisps as you like.
